About
Every week I work out the exact way I want Claude or ChatGPT to do something, whether that's writing a cold email, reviewing a pitch deck, or turning a transcript into a post. It works great, right up until I open a fresh chat the next day and have to explain the whole thing from scratch again.
A Skill is how you get around that. You hand the AI your instructions once and it runs the task your way from then on, so you're no longer re-explaining yourself, getting slightly different results each time, or fishing the same prompt out of a doc you saved somewhere months ago.
In this session, I'll walk through what Skills actually are, where to find ones worth using, and how to write and install Skills in Claude and ChatGPT.
You'll leave knowing how to optimize your most repetitive tasks with Skills.
This is for you if:
- You keep typing the same instructions into AI and getting slightly different results each time
- You've seen "Skills" mentioned everywhere but aren't sure what they are or where to start
- You want AI that reliably does the work your way instead of the generic way
Before we get started, take a minute and think about this for yourself:
- What's one task you explain to AI again and again?
- Where are you getting inconsistent results you wish were consistent?
The clearer you are on those two, the more you'll get out of building and using Skills.
